Imagine the fun when a whole orchestra begins to swing! It could be George Gershwin, singing a smoky blues in 1920s Paris. Leonard Bernstein, cutting loose at the head of an all-American marching band. Carlos Simon, reimagining the voices that history excluded. Or Britain’s own star of the classical sax, Jess Gillam, with a sumptuous salute to the giants of 20th-century jazz.

Jess Gillam hit the headlines when she became the first saxophone player ever to make the finals of BBC Young Musician. A born communicator, she’s sure to strike sparks off the LSO’s charismatic Principal Guest Conductor Gianandrea Noseda.
