The Jazz Sanctuary is excited to present two bands of the next generation of Jazz musicians, both brimming with exceptional talent!
Lauren Breen is a London-based alto saxophonist and composer, currently studying Jazz at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Lauren made her festival debut this year at "We Out Here" and her quintet recently formed to play a sold-out debut gig at MAP Studio Cafe.
Their set is entirely original music written by Lauren with inspiration taken from a wide range of different musicians, including Charles Mingus, Wayne Shorter and Keith Jarrett.

Ragamuffins are a six-piece trad jazz group, comprised of young musicians based in London. Formed through a mutual interest in this early style of jazz music. The band met at youth programs such as Tomorrow Warriors, and Julian Joseph Jazz Academy and some have gone on to study further at institutes such as Trinity Laban and Guildhall. Inspired by artists such as Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington, the band aim for a "Hot Fives & Sevens'" sound.
