The Kramer Durcan Duo and Friends explore the world of Jews in Jazz - their music formed a large part of The Great American Song Book.

The Kramer Durcan Duo's partnership began on a Eurostar train to London in 2004, when violinist Miriam Kramer and pianist Nicholas Durcan were each returning from separate performances in Paris. Their performances have taken them to Hong Kong, USA, the Middle East, New Zealand and across Europe. They have performed at London's South Bank, Wigmore Hall and Kings Place. They will be releasing a recording of their own arrangements of music by Gershwin, and future gigs include San Francisco, Cincinnati and Israel.

Bassist Steve Rossell and drummer Brent Keefe will join the duo at Piano Smithfield for Jews in Jazz, with special guests Sara Feldmann Brummer on vocals, and Shane Brennan on flugelhorn. Jews in Jazz explores the music of The Great American Song Book focusing on Jewish composers including George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern and Johnny Mandel, plus a few surprises! Some went to America, some went to Europe, and their music influenced the world. This show was a big hit at Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Bar as part of the 2021 Tsitsit Jewish Fringe Festival, with audiences up on their feet dancing. The Kramer Durcan Duo are known for their heartfelt and fiery performances, along with colourful programming, making them a firm favourite with audiences.

This event is also part of Tsitsit Jewish Fringe Festival.
