Presenting one of the UK’s most in-demand jazz and blues singer pianists Jeremy Sassoon. Captivating audiences with his natural, soulful voice, dynamic piano playing and his arrangements of jazz, blues, groove and soul tunes.

The Hampstead Jazz Club is proud to be taking part in this year's EFG Jazz Festival, supporting this jazz extravaganza, and promising to bring you a lauded line-up of some of the best artists and jazz on the scene today!

Jeremy has just returned from a month's run at the Edinburgh Fringe and is delighted to once again team up with his favourite collaborators, indeed some of London's finest; guitarist and sax player Harry Greene and bass player Jihad Darwish.

His playing has been influenced by the great dynasty of jazz and blues singer pianists, from Nina Simone and Nat King Cole through to Mose Allison and Jon Cleary.

Jeremy has headlined sell out shows at Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express Soho, the 606 Club and the Jazz Café. He has performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival, The Iridium Jazz Club in New York and headlines twice a year at Berlin’s premier jazz club The “A Trane”. He graced the main stage at the renowned Love Supreme Festival 2019 with this band alongside Lauryn Hill & Jamie Cullum.

In 2014, his version of the beautiful Marc Cohn song “The Things We’ve Handed Down” was featured on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs and then hit number 1 in the iTunes vocal download chart.

Jihad Darwish features on bass. He is a musician, singer and producer from London. Although focusing mainly on his own music he continues to play with and produce other artists. He has worked with Sting, Van Morrison, Mica Paris, Anderson Paak, Ed Motta, Gilles Peterson and Zara McFarlane. His own work is released under the name Darwish and has had his music featured by Jamie Cullum, Tom Robinson and BBC Introducing.

Multi-instrumentalist Harry Greene has firmly cemented himself as a masterful musical director, arranger and sideman. As a jazz bandleader his own projects have enjoyed sell-out performances at a variety of top UK and European venues. As an in-demand guitarist and saxophonist, Harry has shared the stage with artists such as Mica Paris, Cory Wong, PBUG.
