Esther Bennett, Terence Collier and Julian Costello will both be performing tracks from their recent EP and album releases.
Safe Places is the beautiful EP released by Esther Bennett and Terence Collier, the title of which was inspired by the autobiography of the saxophonist Dick Heckstall Smith, in which he describes being on stage as "The Safest Place in The World." Esther is one of the Jazz Scene's most experienced, highly respected and widely loved vocalists, her song delivery leaves audiences utterly compelled! Terence Collier has developed enormous respect as a jazz pianist, able to cross many styles while retaining a strong personal identity. Esther and Terence will be joined by Richard Sadler on bass and Sophie Alloway on drums.
The Julian Costello Quartet consists of Julian Costello on saxes, Maciek Pysz on guitars, Yuri Goloubev on double bass and Adam Teixeira. "The musical and cultural polarity displayed by this international group from their diverse backgrounds is proof that open music can provide the perfect meeting place to create something unique" Iain Ballamy. The band will be performing their new album, "Connections: without borders" - Connections we have to places through music and how music transcends borders
