Beyond the Blue are an exciting, up-and-coming London-based Jazz band. They have played a number of sell-out shows in London and Brighton, as well as participating in and scoring short films by local filmmakers. They have opened for a number of established bands such as Blue Lab Beats and Ebi Soda and have played alongside artists/groups from a variety of genres such as Illajoy, Bukky Sky, Kymara and Genepool. Since two of the members joined the Guildhall School of Music and Drama undergraduate jazz course, the original quartet line up has expanded with the recent additions of alto sax/soprano, tenor sax and cello to form a dynamic septet sound. Their latest quartet release, a four track EP entitled 'Four Rooms', marks an evolution in the band's musical aesthetic. It draws influence from a wide range of genres and bands such as jungle/drum and bass, as well as Radiohead and Massive Attack inspired styles. These new influences are balanced with Beyond the Blue’s signature atmospheric and moody jazz sound so that the EP still remains distinctly unique.
