2015 EFG London Jazz Festival - So Many Highlights

The house lights have gone up for the final time on the EFG London Jazz Festival, and it was truly spectacular!
We drenched the city in jazz - over 2,000+ artists playing 300+ gigs in 50+ venues all in 1 city.

Performances ranged from the swagger of our opening night gala, Jazz Voice, with its 42 piece orchestra and clutch of pop stars and jazz legends, from Foxes and Rebecca Ferguson to Elaine Delmar and Joe Stilgoe all in a packed-out Barbican Centre, through to the poignant re-imagining of the works of Kenny Wheeler in an exceptional tribute concert and the magnificent solo performance from Keith Jarrett in the sold-out Royal Festival Hall.

We saw ambitious new projects land in the UK for the first time, such as the superb Ice-T and Ron McCurdy: The Langston Hughes Project - presenting and adapting the work of the great afro-american jazz poet.

Let’s not forget the epic secret gig (arranged in less than 24 hours), for man-of-the-moment Kamasi Washington, following his sold-out show, and we also saw three South African jazz giants, Sibongile Khumalo, Thandiswa Mazwai and Gloria Bosman harmonising the roof off the Cadogan Hall.

A huge thank you to all our performers, supporters, audiences and sponsors who have made all of this their jazz.

We're already working on 2016...
