EFG London Jazz Festival 2017 - first shows announced

We’re pulling out all the stops to bring you a bumper year as we celebrate 25 years of the EFG London Jazz Festival  (Friday 10 - Sunday 19 November).

Our first announcement delivers a wealth of international legends to London’s concert halls, with new music, emerging British stars and outstanding collaborations all added into the mix.

This first raft of concerts sets the Festival bar high; from Abdullah Ibrahim and Hugh Masekela re-visiting their days as The Jazz Epistles in fifties South Africa, a brand new project from Marcus Miller, to Pat Metheny who plays the Festival for the very first time.  We welcome the infectious energy of Harlem Gospel Choir touching down from New York, and Average White Band with up-and-coming vocal power trio LaSharVu, as well as Paolo Contes powerful blend of jazz and tango rhythms. There is a special concert for the 90th birthday of Jobim, with his songbook interpreted by Carminho, and a remarkable new work commissioned from Phronesis, Dave Maric and Engines Orchestra.

Tickets on sale from Friday 3 March, 10am.
