One Jazz Presents Afternoon Jazz At The Chapel. Zara McFarlane sings “Sweet Whispers” celebrating the music of Sarah Vaughn

Superlative UK vocalist Zara McFarlane celebrates the music, the songs and the voice of the great Sarah Vaughn in the beautiful surrounds of the restored Chapel of North London's Abney Park Cemetery. Zara McFarlane is a multi-award winning vocalist, songwriter, composer, producer and vocal coach with 5 critically acclaimed albums to her name. Her sound is distinguished by her melding of multiple influences from jazz, reggae, folk, nu-soul and electronica. Her most recent album Sweet Whispers: Celebrating Sarah Vaughan honours the jazz great who inspired her on her own artistic journey and whose centenary year was marked in 2024. These special concerts will celebrate the life, work and songs of one of the most wondrous voices of the twentieth century.

As an artist Zara has collaborated with musicians from a range of genres, most notably South African legend Hugh Masekela, Jazz sensation Gregory Porter and featured on house music legend Lil’ Louie Vega’s grammy nominated album “Starring XVIII”. Zara has performed in many prestigious venues and festivals such as Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club and North Sea Jazz Festival and continues to tour internationally with her band.
