Harp Yoga with Benita Glogowska and Marysia Osu
Sat 16 November 2024
Stage time / 11:00am
Join us for 60 minutes of pure relaxation with this unique combination of yoga accompanied by a live musical performance, led by yoga instructor Benita Glogowska and harpist Marysia Osu.
Benita is a senior yoga teacher and sound practitioner, exploring in the last 15 years how the embodied movement, conscious breath and deep listening, feeling the sounds can help us feel more balanced, grounded and open. In this yoga class you are invited to slow down, turn your gaze inwards and tune into the somatic experiences of your body when you gently move through space and breathe. Calming your mind, awakening your awareness and your senses during this session will help you sink deeper into the ocean of the relaxing sounds of the harp. This session is suitable for beginners.
Marysia Osu is a Polish-born, London-based harpist, producer, and composer known for her innovative blend of classical, ambient, and jazz music. Her debut album, harp, beats & dreams, explores themes of philosophy, dreams, and the interplay between the conscious and unconscious mind. The album is an intimate journey into her inner world, composed as a series of diary-like entries that served her as a means of self-soothing and reflection. Fully self-produced, it documents her evolution as a solo composer and producer.
Participants are asked to bring their own mats. This event is part of a partnership between the EFG London Jazz Festival and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, celebrating the cultural heritage of the borough through gigs in local community venues, workshops for people to get involved in music-making and pop-up performances happening across the borough.
