Proudly carrying on his late father’s legacy for the spiritual and avant-garde, child of the legend Pharoah Sanders, Tomoki Sanders is a key part of the new generation of New York musicians.
Tomoki Sanders has been making their mark for the past 5 years as part of Kassa Overall‘s supergroup, as well as playing with the likes of Moses Sumney, Ravi Coltrane, Taylor McFerrin and Mark de Clive-Lowe.
Championing openness and diversity thanks to their dual Afro-American and Japanese culture and their non-binarity, Tomoki explores Great Black Music, urban music, electronic music and the avant-garde.
Tomoki is set to release a debut album in 2026, linking the classic sound of the Impulse! label with contemporary pioneers Kamasi Washington and Shabaka Hutchings.
