Celebrating the Jazz Clubs
Jazz at Trades, Walthamstow's premier jazz night, presents The Reiss Ellis Beckles Group for an exciting evening of contemporary jazz in this EFG London Jazz Festival special.
The Reiss Ellis Beckles Group is a contemporary jazz quintet bringing together five distinctive voices on the UK jazz scene: Reiss Ellis Beckles (alto saxophone), Billy Marrows (guitar), Rowan Hudson (piano), Tom Rivière (double bass) and George Grundy (drum kit). Led by Beckles’ expressive and searching sound, the group explores original music that balances lyricism with rhythmic intensity.
In 2024 they released their debut album Worlds Apart, followed by a UK tour that introduced their music to audiences across the country. Their recent collaboration with Finnish vocalist Dea Juris further highlighted their versatility and adventurous spirit, cementing the ensemble’s reputation for creativity, energy and a fresh perspective on contemporary jazz.
