Ambient Sunday Service at The Old Church Stoke Newington, a mix of contemporary classical music, modern Jazz and songwriting
"tradition means passing on the flame, not worshipping the ashes" Gustav Mahler paraphrasing Thomas More
Vienna born London based saxophonist Guido Spannocchi has come to critical acclaim through his delicate tone and unique approach which combines jazz vocabulary and a heritage of upbringing with classical compositions.
At The Old Church Stoke Newington he will be joined by the exceptional talents of Maurizio Ravalico on percussion renowned for his work with Jamiroquai, Tamar Osborne and more, on bass the Italian born virtuoso Andrea Di Biase known for his work with Kenny Wheeler, Ivo Neame, Heidi Vogel etc and on cello the Spanish born Mariona De Lamo. The quartet will be exploring the idiom of contemporary classical music, modern Jazz, world music and soundscapes through loose compositional threads and democratic interplay.
The quartet is being supported by Kay Elizabeth which seamlessly blends soundscape and songwriting.
