Sexteto Café brings vibrant Latin jazz inspired by the mambo instrumentals of 1960s and ’70s New York. Featuring original music by Dorance Lorza and Anna Gillespie, expect infectious salsa grooves, boleros, boogaloos and irresistible rhythms made for listening and dancing.
Sexteto Cafe present their Latin Jazz repetoire made up of original compositions by Dorance Lorza (vibraphone) and Anna Gillespie (piano).
Our beautiful, melodic and playfully rhythmic numbers are inspired by the ‘Mambo Instrumentales’ from New York in the 1960s and 70s. This genre brought Salsa and Latin Jazz together. It was music both to listen to and dance to with its infectious rhythms and energy.
From reflective instrumental Boleros to hard hitting Salsa grooves and fun loving sing-along Boogaloos, come and enjoy an evening of music, stories, and dancing.
