Alto saxophonist Sam Braysher performs selections from his latest LP with his stellar trio consisting of bassist Simon Read and drummer Shane Forbes. Expect cool, thoughtful interpretations of carefully selected repertoire, with many tunes not often heard from jazz musicians.

Sam Braysher is a London-based alto saxophonist who takes a particular interest in interpreting lesser-known items from the Great American Songbook and jazz canon. His debut album 'Golden Earrings', a duo record with New York pianist Michael Kanan, received international critical acclaim. His new trio album, 'Dance Little Lady, Dance Little Man', has earned glowing reviews from The Observer, The Times, Jazzwise, The Scotsman, Jazz Journal, Jazz Japan and more since its release in April 2021. The record includes thoughtful, swinging arrangements of 11 tunes - many of which are familiar to the collective ear but rarely played by jazz musicians - interpreted by Braysher, double bassist Tom Farmer (Empirical, Anoushka Shankar, Joe Stilgoe) and famed Catalan drummer Jorge Rossy (Brad Mehldau Trio, Lee Konitz, Carla Bley).

For this concert Braysher will be joined by MOBO Award-winning drummer Shane Forbes (EMPIRICAL, Jean Toussaint, Soweto Kinch) ; and first call double bassist Simon Read (Adrian Cox, Sam Leak, Alex Garnett.)

The opening set will come from pianist Alex Chalstrey who, with his trio, will play his take on a range of popular songs, classic and contemporary.
