London alto saxophonist Sam Braysher leads a stellar quartet with rising vocalist Annie Majin, exploring Kurt Weill’s timeless songs and Broadway gems. Expect rich harmony, lyrical improvisation, and swinging interpretations from this critically acclaimed ensemble.

Sam Braysher is a London-based alto saxophonist known for his warm, lyrical tone and deep understanding of the jazz and American Songbook repertoire. A regular performer across Europe, he has earned international critical acclaim for his three albums to date.

Joining him is rising vocal star Annie Majin, fresh from her West End debut. Her powerful yet charming voice draws inspiration from Barbara Streisand, Blossom Dearie, and the golden era of Broadway musicals.

They’re backed by an all-star rhythm section featuring Hungarian pianist Matyas Gayer (Eddie Henderson, Jim Rotondi), award-winning bassist Andrew Robb (Julian Joseph, WDR Big Band), and masterful drummer Steve Brown (Barry Harris, Scott Hamilton).

Braysher’s latest album, That’s Him: The Music of Kurt Weill (2024), reimagines the iconic composer’s works through a jazz lens. Celebrated for bridging European classical music, opera, jazz, and American theatre, Weill's songs offer rich ground for Braysher’s exploratory approach. The album received rave reviews across the UK, Europe, Japan, and the USA, with BBC Radio 3 and Jazz FM featuring tracks. Paris Move called it “a unique, moving, and exceptional entity… close to perfection,” awarding it their top 'indispensable' rating.

Braysher’s previous albums also drew high praise. Golden Earrings, with NYC pianist Michael Kanan, was hailed as “delightful and surprising” by Dave Gelly (The Observer), while his trio album with Jorge Rossy (Brad Mehldau Trio) and Tom Farmer was described in Jazzwise as “a triumph of intelligence and sentiment.”

Expect fresh takes on classics like “My Ship” and “September Song,” hidden Weill gems, and selections by Broadway greats such as Gershwin, Rodgers & Hammerstein, and Harold Arlen.
