Young eclectic trombonist and composer Robinson Khoury is a rising star in France. His new band entitled MŸA explores ancestral rhythms and sounds, rooted in jazz and Middle-Eastern scales, through electro-acoustic landscapes shaped by his modular synth.
Young eclectic trombonist and composer Robinson Khoury is a rising star in France. His new band entitled MŸA explores ancestral rhythms and sounds, rooted in jazz and Middle-Eastern scales, through electro-acoustic landscapes shaped by his modular synth.
Robinson Khoury contributed to the success of the group SARAB alongside Ibrahim Maalouf and Natacha Atlas, and received a special mention from the Académie Charles Cros for his recent album Broken Lines. He has also been a soloist in the Metropole Orkest and has played with renowned artists such as Lew Soloff, Mark Turner, as well as in the Quincy Jones Orchestra.
In March 2025, he received the most prestigious award in France - the Django Reinhardt Prize for Best Jazz Musician of the Year. The trombonist has also just been nominated for the 2025 Victoires du Jazz Awards in the category "Best Concert of the Year ".
