Following a hugely successful show earlier in the year with Rick Simpson leading his band through a re-imagination of Radiohead's 'Kid A', we are delighted to welcome them once again to play through another classic Radiohead album 'In Rainbows'
To mark the 15th anniversary of one of the most revered British alt-rock albums of all time, we are delighted to announce an all star London jazz lineup to revisit the album and catapult the record further into the cosmos. Led by pianist Rick Simpson on the piano, Whirlwind recording artist Tori Freestone joins Michael Chillingworth to form the twin-saxophone frontline, and Simpson is joined in the rhythm section by by the universally respected veteran Dave Whitford on bass and world renowned master Tim Giles on drums. Band leader Simpson is equally at home exploring the tradition or pushing fearlessly against the boundaries, and now his unique creative voice is back in the spotlight with a typically idiosyncratic project: a re-framing of Radiohead’s In Rainbows album, featuring ten original arrangements of the source material played by an all-star band of like-minded musical mavericks. The project was created to mark the 15th anniversary of the original album’s release and will see Simpson play the entirety of In Rainbows in full alongside music from Radiohead’s Amnesiac and Kid A.
