Opening Gala: Jazz Voice
The spectacular opening gala of the EFG London Jazz Festival returns with a dazzling line-up of soloists, joined by arranger and conductor Guy Barker, and the specially created EFG London Jazz Festival Orchestra.
This year we’re bringing an extra special show as we celebrate the journey of the iconic Jazz Voice, featuring familiar names from the past 15 years of performances since being launched alongside title sponsor EFG.
To celebrate this milestone, Jazz Voice arranger Guy Barker has handpicked some of his favourite previous vocalists to grace the stage once again, including Emeli Sandé, Clarke Peters, China Moses, Omar, Brendan Reilly, Naomi Banks, Judi Jackson, and Vanessa Haynes.
This spectacular show will be hosted by Jumoké Fashola.
For the first time ever, Festival Friend passes are available to purchase for the EFG London Jazz Festival. This highly-limited ticket enables you to choose 10 shows, over the 10 days of the Festival, saving you over 40%. Find out more here.
“A gorgeous wall of sound, heartfelt artistry and musical camaraderie.”(★★★★☆ The Arts Desk)
“A parade of wonderful jazz singers, backed by a luxuriantly big orchestra, singing two dozen or so of the greatest popular songs ever written. It’s a sure-fire recipe for bliss.”(Daily Telegraph)
“I have the immense pleasure and honour in sharing the stage this year with other phenomenal artists such as Omar, Judi Jackson, Brendan Reilly, Naomi Banks, Vanessa Haynes, Emeli Sande…and of course the Guy Barker Orchestra! He has made special arrangements of two of my original songs. One of them being from my upcoming album “It’s complicated…” coming out at the beginning of 2024.”China Moses, Jazz FM Recommends 2023
