Trumpeter Olivia Cuttill closes week one of the EFG London Jazz Festival at Morocco Bound
Olivia Cuttill and her all star quintet play the EFG Jazz Festival. Music from their new album ‘The Whole Damn Plan,’ as well as some new material, and some nods to their favourite standards! The sounds of jazz, blues, and all things groove fuses these stories together, and has something for any listener.
Olivia Cuttill is a jazz trumpet player, composer and lyricist. Raised in East London, and recently graduated from Leeds Conservatoire, Olivia has always been obsessed with music. Being the third generation of musician in her family, jazz, funk and soul are all deeply rooted in Olivia’s sound. On her latest album, The Whole Damn Plan, in theme with all Olivia’s original music , us a collection of thoughts, feelings and anecdotes come together to create memorable and impactful music, her new compositions follow on with this story telling approach. Olivia's style of composition and improvisation are one and the same, gleaming with conviction, captivation and character. The sounds of Joni Mitchell, Ray Charles and Lee Morgan all heavily influence Olivia’s music, creating a sound not to be forgotten.
