This collaborative quartet formed in lockdown as a means of sonic therapy to learn and explore music by Ornette Coleman. The repertoire has expanded to include other luminaries of the avant-garde – Don Cherry, Dewey Redman, Arthur Blythe and more .
All 4 musicians have been playing on the UK jazz scene for many years now .
George Crowley on sax has steadily established himself as a key player within the London’s burgeoning creative jazz and improv scene since arriving in the capital in 2007 , and increasingly well known further afield, performing across the UK and Europe with the likes of Melt Yourself Down , Ivo Neame , Magpie Trio , Lucid Dreamers , Yazz Ahmed and many others.
Alex Bonney is a trumpeter, electronic musician and recording/mix/mastering engineer and producer based in London. He performs internationally with several groups including Pando Pando, Leverton Fox, Brass Mask as well as many informal improv collaborations with leading improvisers on the UK scene. He is also in demand in the studio and works for a great variety of artists on their album releases for leading record labels including ECM.
Olie Brice is a double bassist, improviser and composer. . He leads a trio and octet . Both of these groups were featured on the critically acclaimed double album ‘Fire Hills’. Previously Brice lead a quintet – “one of the most interesting and satisfying bands on the current UK scene” – which released two albums
Will Glaser on drums moved to London in 2010 to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Will leads his own projects and is a highly in demand drummer on the British Jazz and Experimental music scenes. He has performed with a wide range of artists including; James Allsopp, Ruth Goller, Alex Bonney, Tom Challenger, Olie Brice, George Crowley, Liam Noble, Soweto Kinch, Dame Cleo Laine, Stan Sulzmann, Kit Downes, Ben Van Gelder, Nikki Iles, Iain Ballamy, Yazz Ahmed, Henry Lowther, Rick Simpson & Riley Stone-Lonergan
