Guitarist Nick Costley-White brings his all star quartet featuring Julian Siegal , Connor Chaplin and James Maddren to the East Side to play music from their Latin infused playfulness of his Poncha album along with new hyper-rhythmic cutting edge European style material
Guitarist Nick Costley-White leads an all star quartet featuring the absolute best of the UK jazz scene; Julian Siegel on sax, James Maddren on drums, Conor Chaplin on double bass and Composer/Bandleader Nick Costley-White on guitar. The band are raring to go off the back of a 14 date UK tour and are now excited to be performing fresh new material combining the acoustic, Latin infused playfulness of their 2025 album “Poncha” with the hyper-rhythmic cutting edge sounds of the contemporary European jazz scene.
This marks the quartet’s first performance at the EFG London Jazz Festival and is set to be an unmissable evening of virtuosic improvising and daring new music.

Nick has released three albums to date: Detour Ahead and Nice Work and his latest Poncha. Nick has performed with some of the most renowned jazz musicians in the UK including Stan Sulzmann, Gareth Lockrane, Jason Rebello, Ivo Neame, Kit Downes Alex Garnett, Mark Taylor, Steve Fishwick and Jeff Williams and holds the guitar chair with the London Jazz Orchestra
Saxophonist Julian Siegal has worked with many top figures in the music including Bill Frisell, Andrew Hill, Steve Swallow, Adam Nussbaum, Hermeto Pascoal, Michael Gibbs, Django Bates, John Taylor, Kenny Wheeler and the NDR Big band In 2007 he was awarded the BBC Jazz Award for Best Instrumentalist and in 2011 his band the Julian Siegel Quartet was awarded the Jazz Award in the London Festival Fringe Awards for Art and Performance.
