Nathan Haines Band and The Illusions come together for a special double bill, bringing jazz, funk, soul and Balearic sounds to the stage, with The Illusions performing their debut album Find Your Way live in full.
Nathan Haines returns to London with the Nathan Haines Band and acclaimed vocalist Vanessa Freeman, joined by Ibiza-based live collective The Illusions for a special double bill spanning jazz, funk, soul and Balearic sounds.
The name Nathan Haines has been closely linked with the UK’s jazz and dance music scenes for more than 25 years. From his era-defining albums with the late Phil Asher, Sound Travels and Squire For Hire, to collaborations with Chaos In The CBD and many others, his distinctive saxophone playing and production have made him a fixture across the jazz, broken beat and electronic landscape. For this performance, he brings his full band together with Vanessa Freeman, whose voice has featured on some of the most respected records to emerge from the UK’s jazz and soul scenes.
Alongside them, The Illusions bring their debut album Find Your Way to the stage, performing the record live in full with a seven-piece band of musicians and singers. Produced by Nathan Haines during recording sessions in Ibiza, the album draws together jazz, funk, soul and Balearic influences, reflecting the musical culture of the island while retaining a strong connection to the UK jazz and dance tradition.
The Illusions have quickly established themselves within Ibiza’s live music community, with Find Your Way already attracting attention from DJs and tastemakers across the scene. Their live set brings the album’s studio sound into a full-band setting, with the emphasis on groove, musicianship and the collective energy of the performance.
With both acts appearing in full, this is a meeting of two connected musical worlds: London’s jazz and broken beat heritage and Ibiza’s open-ended approach to jazz, soul and dance music.
