Maria Chiara Argirò (keys, electronics) and Riccardo Chiaberta (drums, synth bass) merge electronic music, alternative rock and jazz, collaborating with guest saxophonists Rich Muscat and Alex Hitchcock to create an enthralling dynamic kaleidoscope of melody, harmony, texture and groove.

Keyboardist Maria Chiara Argirò (synths and electronics) and drummer Riccardo Chiaberta (drums, electronics, synth bass) combine to form Moonfish, merging influences from electronic music, alternative rock and jazz in original material from their recent EP, Leaving, along with new pieces. The pairs dexterity and ambidextrous setup make for performances with great agility and sonic range, expanded still further on this occasion by guest saxophonists Rich Muscat and Alex Hitchcock, twinned in their renown for their melodic vision and imaginative, visceral improvisation. Drawing on influences such as Aaron Parks, Kneebody, Bonobo, and Thom Yorke, Moonfish's music blends earthy grooves, shimmering soundscapes and ethereal melodies, drawing the listener into intimate dialogues that crescendo to intense explosions.

About The Musicians:
Maria Chiara Argirò and drummer Riccardo Chiaberta are prominent figures in London’s jazz and electronic music scenes, having worked with artists such as Rosie Turton, Liran Donin, Jamie Leeming, Dugong, Bruno Heinen, and These New Puritans.

Alex Hitchcock is an immediately distinctive improviser and a leading voice on the saxophone on the international stage. An innovative collaborator, instigator and catalyst for captivating, envelope pushing musical encounters with new London jazz trailblazers (Maria Chiara Argirò, Empirical, Myele Manzanza) and revered elders alike (Kirk Lightsey, Jasper Høiby, the Blackbyrds).

Essential in melodic approach, sensitive in interplay and sincere in expression, Muscat is open to abstraction and changes in direction, but striving for essence. Richard has recently returned from six months in Nicaragua working as a music therapist using improvisation and free association.
