Join Melbourne International Jazz Festival once again as they takeover the Barbican Freestage for the 4th year running! Celebrating the unique and diverse sounds of the Australian jazz scene, Melbourne International Jazz Festival and the EFG London Jazz Festival are proud to showcase 2 exceptional artists from downunder.

KOŁACZ is a new work by contemporary violinist and composer Xani Kolac exploring belonging and the ways names carry history across generations. Sparked by the restoration of the diacritic to her Polish family name - a small mark lost through migration - the work asks how people are shaped by movement across borders, and how travel, culture and family history can transform who we become. Shaped by years of international touring and artistic exchange, KOŁACZ brings together an exciting ensemble of international collaborators performing together for the first time including Estonian artists Tuulikki Bartosik (accordion, kennel, voice) and Mingo Rajandi (double bass).

Composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Don Glori's records combine elements of Jazz, Funk, Soul, RnB and Samba, yet he doesn’t fit neatly into any of those genres. His live show is more jazz - punk - funk than anything. One thing is certain, there is an undeniable, joyful, spirit that permeates through his music. Following his standout third album Paper Can’t Wrap Fire which landed on Mr Bongo in 2025, Don Glori presents the first in a run of new singles, exploring the breadth of his songwriting. Joining him for this special performance will be Eddie Lee (Keys), Jamie Leeming (Guitar) and Harry Ling (Drums).
