Join Melbourne International Jazz Festival as they takeover the Barbican Freestage! Celebrating the unique and diverse sounds of the Australian jazz scene, Melbourne International Jazz Festival and the EFG London Jazz Festival are proud to showcase three exceptional artists from downunder.

Bumpy is fast becoming one of Australia’s most vibrant and captivating soul singers. An award-winning composer, vocalist and Noongar woman, Bumpy’s deeply affecting music pulls from the strength found in tenderness, scars and all.

Vocalist Kristin Berardi is considered one of Australia’s most gifted jazz singers. In an exclusive premiere for London audiences, Berardi is joined by Swiss double bassist Lukas Traxel to present a performance of original works inspired by jazz and folk traditions. Be sure not to miss this rare opportunity to experience the freedom and interplay of this powerful duo, performing in this unique and intimate setting.

Alexander Flood possesses a finessed arsenal of groove, power, and expertise on the drums. Mining the depths of nu-jazz, house, broken beat, DnB, funk, and experimental sounds, Flood’s live set delivers hard-hitting dance energy from start to finish, with tight masterful drums, big bottom bass, lush keyboard harmony, and floating jazz flute melodies.
