Celebrating the Jazz Clubs
Established, award-winning British Cypriot artist Martha D. Lewis presents a rare, intimate performance of the varied repertoire – from her 6 album releases – where the terrain of jazz singer-songwriter, world jazz and indie come together.
Martha D. Lewis began her musical journey as one half of the groundbreaking music-comedy duo Donna and Kebab with Eve Polycarpou, gaining national recognition through international tours, TV and radio appearances, and three albums under their popular songwriting partnership, Martha and Eve.
Since the mid-1990s, Martha has carved a diverse path as a composer, performer, and presenter. Her work spans world jazz compositions, Arts Council commissions, theatre and film scores, and music documentaries. Her debut solo album Café Aman–Double Life (2007) won ‘Best Album of the Year’ from BBC Radio, with tracks later featured on the Best of European Jazz Compilation CD (2010).
A pivotal moment came with her appearance in My Sweet Canary, a feature documentary about the legendary Roza Eskenazy. This inspired Homage to Roza (2015), a bold reimagining of Greek urban blues, featuring legendary drummer Jack DeJohnette.
Martha is known for her fearless artistic evolution. Her sixth album, ALL THAT YOU SEE (2022), is her boldest yet—a powerful collection of indie jazz-infused songs that navigate emotional depth and social critique with equal grace. Described as a masterful songwriter, she brings soul, edge, and maturity to each track.
To bring the album to life, Martha assembled a world-class team at Real World Studios, including drummer Ian Matthews (Kasabian), producer Nick Cohen (Massive Attack, Annie Lennox), and celebrated sound engineer Stephen W Tayler. Tayler, known for work with Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, and Stevie Nicks, added his signature touch, elevating the music with rich, cinematic soundscapes.
With ALL THAT YOU SEE, Martha D. Lewis reaffirms her place as one of the UK’s most original and compelling musical voices.
