Celebrating the Jazz Clubs
Mama Terra recreate songs from the classic album 'Head Hunters' & others by Herbie Hancock, in their own sound, that they first performed live to great acclaim for Jazz FM as part of their classic album series to celebrate the album turning 50 years old.
Hotly tipped by JazzFM, new Acid Jazz signing Mama Terra is the brainchild of Glaswegian pianist and composer Marco Cafolla. The Summoned is a conceptual journey through life and the universe – a new an invigorated take on spiritual jazz with a sprinkling of soul.
The new Scottish jazz/soul ensemble from the minds of Cafolla & Wiszniewski, draws from an inner journey of discovery, it’s a Jazz/Spiritual/Soul roots based record with influences from John & Alice Coltrane, Nina Simone, McCoy Tyner & Miles Davis to Kamasi Washington, Erykah Badu & Robert Glasper.
"Focused on melody, pocket and sound - it starts and ends with it being organic. The music is a connection to our lives and time on this planet. It is positivity and friendship flowing through every part of it. The simpatico with everyone involved is impossible to ignore, from inception there has been this amazing feeling around it, and in a time of uncertainty and fear - this has brought it all even more together. We celebrate what’s came before us & look forward with our songs, giving our take on it all.”

“I love seeing Mama Terra live. Their on-stage energy is infectious and it’s clear that the band are having the best time performing together. These shows give you the chance to hear tracks from their debut album ‘The Summoned’ and be one of the first to experience a sneak preview of their upcoming album, which is due for release in Spring next year.”
