Lunchtime Concert: Mared
Mon 10 November 2025
Stage time / 1:00pm
Mared is a Welsh artist and singer-songwriter making a bold transition into the indie-folk world for her upcoming EP 'Everything I Left Behind', with a sound that blends bilingual storytelling with haunting harmonies, morphed vibraphone and intricate guitar textures - inspired by artists like Alisa Amador, Andy Shauf, This Is The Kit and Laura Marling. She is based between Cardiff and London.
Winner of Welsh Album of the Year 2021, Mared has performed at leading festivals including Sŵn Festival (Cardiff), Celtic Connections, FOCUS Wales, and Green Man Settlement. She was recently awarded the PRS Foundation's International Showcase Fund to perform at BreakOut West in Canada later this year, further establishing her presence on the international stage.Earlier in 2025, she released a Live EP featuring a 7-piece band, funded by BBC Horizons Launchpad, capturing the energy and depth of her evolving sound. Now entering a new creative chapter, Mared is set to release a new indie-folk EP in Spring 2026, with singles arriving ahead of the full project. With this work, she continues to bridge the UK and Canadian folk scenes — offering music that is quietly powerful, emotionally resonant, and unmistakably her own.
