‘La Via Del Ferro’ is a UK/Italy/New Zealand collaboration between four artists at the forefront of their respective jazz scenes.

The son of a Congolese master percussionist, born and raised in New Zealand listening to hip hop, jazz and dance music, as an artist Myele Manzanza brings an eclectic style and diverse skill to his craft to create a genre bending experience rooted in jazz and African rhythm. Manzanza is a powerful drummer who has earned himself a reputation as a composer with vision, and a musician who is not afraid to experiment.

Maria Chiara Argirò is a London-based artist, pianist, synth player, composer and producer. She is known for her dramatic atmospheric jazz, but is venturing into new territories incorporating electronic soundscapes and vocals. She has been quietly weaving her way around the UK jazz, classical and electronic worlds since she moved to London from Rome 11 years ago. Freshly signed to Innovative Leisure, Argirò has marked herself out as an exciting new name in electronic, jazz-fusion with her new album 'Forest City'.

Saxophonist Alex Hitchcock is an immediately distinctive improviser and a leading voice on his instrument in the UK. An Ivor Novello-nominated composer, his innovative collaborations have confirmed his growing international reputation as an instigator and catalyst for captivating musical encounters inspired by the uniquely creative and diverse voices of the musicians he works with - always with human connection and communication as their guiding principle.

Michelangelo Scandroglio, barely twenty years old, is already considered one of the most interesting promises of Italian jazz. He was one of the winners of the Riga International Jazz Bass Competition, he won the Tomorrow’s Jazz 2018 prize for the best young talents of Italian jazz, and in 2021 he won the Getxo International Jazz Competition in Bilbao. In 2022 he was selected for the prestigious Betty Carter Jazz Ahead at Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
