A 2024 BBC Young Jazz Musician finalist, Klara Devlin brings her quartet to the EFG London Jazz Festival for a special show of original compositions and inventive arrangements inspired by bebop, blues, and free jazz.
Klara Devlin is a 19-year-old jazz trumpeter and composer making waves on the UK scene. A 2024 BBC Young Jazz Musician finalist and current jazz student at the Royal Academy of Music, Klara began playing trumpet at the age of five and discovered jazz just three years later.
Her quartet — formed through Tomorrow’s Warriors — performs original compositions and arrangements that draw on bebop, blues, and free jazz.
The Klara Devlin Quartet has appeared at Jazz In The Round, Jazz Sanctuary, Karamel, and the CLF Art Lounge, as well as major festivals including Brick Lane, We Out Here, and Brecon Jazz.
Saxophonist Tony Kofi calls her “one of the most amazing and unique new trumpet voices to emerge onto the UK jazz scene… a stylist who’ll be making new waves for the next generation.”
