A spiritual journey through sound, Orun is the latest project from visionary bassist and composer Karl Onibuje, featuring celebrated guitarist Femi Temowo and the otherworldly drums of Atchyet. Rooted in Yoruba cosmology and filtered through jazz, soul, and experimental improvisation, Orun (meaning "heaven" or "the spiritual realm") is both a sonic offering and a ritual in motion. With Temowo’s rich harmonic language, Atchyet’s rhythmic textures, and Onibuje’s grounding, resonant grooves, the trio creates a powerful space where ancestral memory meets contemporary expression. This is music to awaken the spirit—meditative, urgent, and deeply alive.
