Up and coming German jazz violinist Johanna Burnheart returns to SpiceJazz Soho with her band featuring Jonny Mansfield to perform her critically acclaimed debut album "Burnheart”, released on October 30th 2020 with Ropeadope Records, as well as new compositions and arrangements.

Besides the positives reviews of her debut, Johanna was chosen as one of 30 best new artists for 2021 by the Guardian.

Burnheart is an experimental electronic modal jazz project, rooted in traditional jazz infused with techno grooves and modal harmony.

Originally from Berlin, Johanna draws inspiration from early modal jazz pioneers such as Eberhard Weber and Zbigniew Seifert as well as the current German techno scene.

Following her debut release she started working on the Burnheart Remixed EP in collaboration with electronic producers Acid Pauli, Nesa Azadikhah, Beth Lydi and Pilo Adami. The EP is going to be fully released on November 19th 2021.
