James Pearson is a pianist, composer, creative tour de force and Artistic Director at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club where his trio are the house band. Their last album ‘Swing the Club’ recorded live at the venue received excellent reviews across the board.
Tonight’s concerts are special events for London. Over each 80 minute performance James explores, with a deep sense of knowledge and history, the stories behind the evolution of jazz piano music from Ragtime to Stride; from Boogie Woogie to Big Band; from Be-Bop to Modal and much more.
And of course James will play all these styles capturing the essence of Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller, Art Tatum, George Shearing, Errol Garner, Dave Brubeck, Oscar Peterson and more.
