Highams Park Jazz Club Presents: Jam Session feat Alex Clarke
The evening begins with guest saxophonist Alex Clarke performing alongside the Highams Park Jazz Club house band: Soner Ersen on piano, Dave Manington on double bass, and Jamie Murray on drums.

Soner Ersen, founder of Highams Park Jazz Club and pianist of the house band, has extensive experience performing with many of the UK’s leading jazz musicians. His playing combines sensitivity, rhythmic drive and a strong sense of swing, making him both a versatile accompanist and inventive soloist.

Dave Manington is one of the most in-demand bassists on the UK jazz scene. As a superb musician, composer, and founding member of the Loop Collective, Dave leads his own bands and performs regularly with his projects, while also contributing to a wide range of other groups both in the UK and internationally. His warm tone, lyrical solos and impeccable time feel make him a favourite collaborator for many leading artists.

Jamie Murray is likewise one of the most sought-after drummers in the UK today. Known for his dynamic, creative style, he leads his own bands and performs regularly with various projects across the UK and abroad. His versatility allows him to move seamlessly between power, subtlety and explosive improvisation.

The first set will feature this stellar line-up in a varied programme, showcasing the group’s chemistry and skill in bringing fresh energy to a wide range of material. In the second set, the stage opens for a jam session, welcoming musicians from the community to join in.

A true community event, all ages are welcome, with free entry for under-16s (adult supervision required). Expect an inclusive atmosphere, world-class musicianship and spontaneous, joyful music-making.
