Ignition Big Band returns to the EFG London Jazz Festival with a special new programme inspired by the powerful rhythms and African influences at the heart of Art Blakey's music. Bringing together some of the UK's leading jazz musicians, the band features an exceptional line-up of established artists alongside outstanding emerging talent, creating the dynamic energy and rich sound that have become its hallmark.
For this one-off performance, the ensemble is joined by acclaimed percussionist Mohammed Gueye, whose vibrant playing brings an added dimension to a programme of bold new arrangements and original compositions.
