Rooted in London's jazz scene but taking influence from all over the world, Homegrown presents three artists making waves in the industry and celebrates the youth organisations who support and develop this community.

ArtsTrain - 12.30 - 13.00

ArtsTrain deliver creative music workshops to young people in South-East London. Working with community and education partners, ArtsTrain support participants to create original material, collaborate and access high-quality musical experiences. This year, participants have written music responding to themes of identity, culture, home and belonging.

Audrey Powne - 14.00 - 15.00

UK-based, Melbourne born artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist Audrey Powne is a creative force carving out a distinctive path in the future jazz and soul world. Inspired by legends Herbie Hancock, Miles Davies and crossover artists Roy Hargrove and D'Angelo. Powne’s style is hard to pin down, from hook-laden pop song sensibilities to long form cinematic soundscapes, RnB ballads and free jazz improvisations.

Allexa Nava - 16.00 - 17.00

Allexa Nava is a saxophonist, flautist and composer, originally from Peru and currently residing in London. She has already graced the stages of some of the most significant festivals in the UK, including Glastonbury, We Out Here, Wilderness, and Brainchild. Her reputation as a bandleader and composer has soared following the release of her highly anticipated debut EP, No Language, on the influential Jazz Re:freshed label.


LOX - 18.00 - 19.00

Hailing from South-East London of Ghanaian & Indian descent, LOX has performed, recorded and toured with a plethora of artists all over the world in his career, starting at the young age of 16. He has taken to festival stages and recording studios with artists such as Noname, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Mansur Brown and China Moses, and recently released his debut cinematic-jazz-fusion concept album The Eight Gates under London label Jazz Re:freshed.
