Marcina Arnold
British born with Scottish & South African roots, Marcina‘s first performance at the Edinburgh Festival at the age of 15 led ‘The Scotsman’ to write “an astonishing young lady from London … is sure to have the music world at her feet”.
Her career has included collaborations/performances/recordings with the late Bheki Mseleku, Grupo Batuque, Jason Yarde, Quite Sane, Akimbo, Manu Ventura, Airto Moreira, Steve Williamson & Byron Wallen amongst others.
She draws on many traditions including African, Jazz, Soul, Indian, Folk, and Brazilian but manages to retain a distinctly London flavour to the sound.
