Celebrating the best of Cuban jazz with Havana- based pianist and composer, Harold López-Nussa

Harold López-Nussa will be bringing his vibrant sound that marries Afro-Cuban music with modern jazz, much owed to the school of Cuban piano as to the influences of jazz musicians like Wayne Shorter, as well as classical composers Ravel and Villa-Lobos.

His album Te Lo Dije features the pianist’s core quartet of his brother, drummer Ruy Adrián López-Nussa, bassist Julio César González and trumpeter Mayquel González, bolstered by a number of special guests including Afro-Cuban funk superstar Cimafunk; French accordionist Vincent Peirani; famed Cuban reggaeton vocalist Randy Malcom; and vocalist Kelvis Ochoa.

Joining as a special guest, one of the most inspiring artists of our time, violinist, singer and composer Yilian Cañizares.

Staying true to her origins, she skilfully blends jazz, classical and Afro Cuban rhythms with her otherworldly voice. Born in Havana and settled in Switzerland, she carries on her great respect for the past and sensitivity towards the future.

'Yilian is one of the most incredible talents of the new generation of Cuban musicians. She is a virtuoso, she is expressive, spontaneous and with a grace that makes her the favourite of all of us.’
