A 2023 Roundhouse Rising Artist, Gigi explores self, family, endings and beginnings through poetic lyricism and guitar led instrumentals.
Raised on folk & jazz before making her way on the London jazz scene, Gigi's music takes inspiration from artists such as Prince, The Strokes, Feist, Lianne La Havas, all converging on an irresistible sound that bridges the gap between her musical roots.
Her music has brought her to stages at Brick Lane Jazz Festival, Wild Paths & Kite Festival, as well as performing at the Roundhouse as part of the Rising Artist residency. She has received support from Jamie Cullum and has had her music played on BBC Radio 2, BBC Oxford & Soho Radio. She has toured the UK as a guest artist supporting musicians such as Jesca Hoop, and Olivia Cheney.
She effortlessly translates unique and personal experiences to her audience, conveying each emotion through ethereal imagery and playful lyrics. Her voice moves gently accompanied by layered guitar-led instrumentals leaving you warm and washed with introspection. One to watch if you like storytelling, conflicting emotions and folk-inspired, textured vocals.
