The Estonian Embassy in the UK presents Flow Rea as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival 2026, blending hip-hop grooves, soulful melodies and adventurous contemporary jazz.
The Estonian Embassy in the UK presents Flow Rea, a genre-bending trio bringing together vibrant rhythms, expressive improvisation and emotionally rich compositions.
Drawing inspiration from Alfa Mist, Yussef Dayes and the Moses Yoofee Trio, Flow Rea creates a distinctive contemporary sound that moves fluidly between jazz, hip-hop and soul.
At the heart of the band is Estonian pianist and composer Mathei Florea, whose writing provides the foundation for a deeply collaborative approach. Each piece develops through musical dialogue and shared improvisation, allowing the trio to shape the music collectively and ensuring every performance feels organic, vibrant and alive.
Flow Rea introduced their energetic sound with the debut single Pulse in 2023. Expect intricate grooves, captivating interplay and adventurous contemporary jazz from one of Estonia’s exciting emerging groups.
Presented as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival 2026.
About Flow Rea
Mathei Florea – Keys
An Estonian pianist and composer based between Berlin and Tallinn, Mathei graduated from the Jazz Institute Berlin in 2020 and has studied with acclaimed musicians including Kurt Rosenwinkel and John Hollenbeck.
Joosep Talumaa – Bass
A versatile musician and educator whose collaborations include leading Estonian artists Ott Lepland and Sofia Rubina-Hunter.
Dmitri Nikolajevski – Drums
A technically accomplished drummer with extensive experience performing alongside prominent figures from Estonia’s jazz and popular music scenes.
