From Warri (Nigeria) childhood to London stages, EyiTemi transforms personal struggle into an electrifying show backed by 8-piece band and support from classical pianist Edison Roberto Carolino (The Piano,UK) and dancer Lois Samphier Read (Contemporary, Hip Hop, Afro)

The British-Nigerian singer songwriter at her highly anticipated EFG London Jazz Festival performance, takes to the stage with raw honesty, rare tenacity and creative energy

With her heart rooted in Jazz, 2x BBC Jazz Awards innovation panel judge EyiTemi, walks a path that is comfortably and firmly, her own. Her music is personal, self written and rich with intention 'I feel I have a voice in my piece of earth and my ambition is to express this honestly through my music'.

EyiTemi's presentation for the festival is the culmination of a 3 part special series that focuses on the exploration of her Afro roots. In this spectacular genre bending showcase, she turns up the Afro 'volume' in the blend with soul, jazz, gospel, spoken word and on this night, classical.

This night introduces new unreleased music and re-imagined tracks spanning 3 albums including the well received latest single, Fighter (recently featured on Jazz FM's late track of the week)

"The existence of mavericks such as EyiTemi is a welcome spanner in the far from perfect works...a poised and commanding delivery..." Kevin Le Gendre (Journalist, Broadcaster, Author)

"Storytelling that refuses to be confined to a single lane!"

EyiTemi is joined by support act, Brazilian classical pianist and music director, Edison Roberto Carolino. Fresh from stunning Grammy winning musician Jon Batiste on Channel 4's The Piano, Edison will be breathing Brazilian sunshine into his classical piano performance on the night . Completing the support slot is talented young dancer Lois Samphier Read. She will be bringing her brand of Contemporary, Hip Hop and Afro dance into the mix, performing to the LIVE band

Join us to experience this unique show as well as an artist completely in her element. EyiTemi's commanding vocals, personal stories and warm delivery celebrate her Afro roots and resilience, sharing the universal truth that our deepest struggles can become our greatest strength
