Singer Songwriter EyiTemi's sound is solid Soul deeply infused with Jazz, Afro, Gospel and laid back Funk. She is backed by a Poet, Dancer and 7 piece band, her haunting songs brought to life 3D style, in genre defying performances

British Nigerian Singer songwriter EyiTemi’s name means ‘This is Mine’ in the Nigerian language, Itsekiri.

She burst into the music scene as Creative Event Producer and passionate advocate of UKs most talented and exciting unsigned jazz acts, and went on to spend 2 years as panel judge in the innovation category of BBC Jazz Awards.

As a songwriter, she writes songs that resonate and dig beneath the surface. Packing a punch, her songs articulate complicated life experiences in a way that still leaves you feeling light, free and motivated. Her voice has been likened to fellow British Nigerian Sade with musical inspirations from artists like Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, India Aire, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder.

Her heart, still firmly rooted in Jazz, Eyitemi has sung most of her life (mainly in church) but moved into the singer songwriter arena during 2020 lockdown when she wrote her first song Someday, quickly followed by debut single Alone. In a relatively short time she has amassed a credible number of songs. In December 2022, she released her self-written debut EP Album, Taking Flight (produced by Xantone Blacq and Ed Riches). Her as yet untitled 2nd album (also self written) is due late 2023. Specially arranged music from both albums will feature in event In 'Live and Integrated'

In her presentation for EFG London Jazz Festival 2023, EyiTemi walks a blurry line between a vibrant music gig and a multi-faceted show. Her autobiographical songs capture the theme of transitioning to light from darkness. Performing with her live band, she combines music with contemporary dance and performance poetry from guest acts, to bring these often painful moments to vivid life. An intimate evening full of genuine warmth!

The impressive 7-piece band include 2 backing vocalists as well as:
Stuart Goodhew - Keyboard
Peter Cabara - Bass (6string)
Ben Turner - Guitar
Jonny Gow - Flute
Jamie Steenbergen - Drums/Percussion
