Off the back of her critically-acclaimed soundtrack to the 2022 Oscar-winning film, Drive My Car, we are delighted to present Eiko Ishibashi as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. Expect to hear music from across Ishibashi’s career, including parts of the Drive My Car soundtrack.

Since she launched her solo career in 2006, Japanese multi-instrumentalist Eiko Ishibashi’s work has ranged from singer-songwriter albums to scores for film, television and theatre to improvised music.

Her many albums include the 2018 release The Dream My Bones Dream, praised as one of the year’s very best.

Films scores include 2016’s Albino’s Tree directed by Masakazu Kaneko, which won the Best Music Award at the Cinalfama Lisbon International Film Awards, 2019’s anime Mugen no Juunin: Immortal, and Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s 2022 Oscar-winning Drive My Car.

Eiko Ishibashi has also created the music for The Art Gallery of New South Wales’ “Japan Supernatural” exhibition at Sydney, and the “Memory of Future” exhibition at Mandako coal mine in Kumamoto, Japan.
