This concert is a double bill featuring Christine Tobin’s new album launch, Pseudologia Fantastica and Brian Eley & Ashley Wales’s SONGS.

Pseudologia Fantastica is a mixed media, performance piece of multiple short compositions that include spoken word, song, electronic fx, hand percussion, pre-recorded soundscapes & compositions against a backdrop of striking images. Pseudologia Fantastica, meaning pathological liar, charts a journey that explores themes of disinformation, the war on words, the misappropriation of new technologies, the rise of far-right ideologies and ultimately the corresponding rise of community, resistance and the kindness of the human spirit. A change is coming.

SONGS

SONGS is a collaborative album by vocalist/poet Brian Eley and sound artist/producer Ashley Wales (known for Spring Heel Jack). Rather than traditional singing, the project features Eley’s spoken-word recitations of his own romantic and introspective poetry, accompanied by Wales’s atmospheric, electronic background soundscapes.
