Don't miss the live premiere of Melbourne underground mainstay Don Glori's debut album, "Don't Forget To Have Fun". Traversing jazz, funk, soul, RnB, samba & beyond, the London-based, multi-instrumentalist represents that DIY, can-do Naarm attitude on a global scale.
Traversing jazz, funk, soul, RnB, samba and beyond, Don Glori is an anagram for producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Gordon Li.
A product of the not-so-underground, genre-bending melting pot that is Naarm (Melbourne, Australia), Don Glori is now based in London, representing that DIY, can-do attitude on a global scale.
Cutting his teeth touring with all manner of artists from a young age, including opera companies, cabarets, and sessioning for bands - Don Glori now finds himself firmly rooted in the jazz scene after stepping into the limelight as a bandleader in 2022 with his long -awaited debut album ‘Welcome’, which garnered support from BBC, Worldwide FM, NTS, Rinse FM, KEXP, Tokyo FM, PBS and RRR. The album was nominated for the Australian Music prize as well as multiple Music Victoria awards.
Fast forward to 2024 and the now London-based Don Glori is ticking off bucket list venues and festivals, one after another. His growing list of collaborators is a testament to the warmth he brings in his approach to creating music. His next album, ‘Don’t Forget To Have Fun’, is released in June 2024 on DeepMatter records. This show will be the album's live premiere at Ninety One Living Room for the EFG London Jazz Festival.
