For these 2 EFG London Jazz Festival shows the band members will be presenting 6 brand new compositions. Both shows will be recorded live for future release on PX Records. If you want to be a part of history in the making, don’t miss!
“Six By Six” is a truly all-star international band spanning the generations from the experienced stalwarts, O’Higgins & Shaw (who have played so much together they are almost the UK Brecker Brothers!) through to twice BBC Young Jazz Musician finalist & brilliant composer, saxophonist Tom Smith. The rhythm section comprises virtuoso Hungarian pianist, Matyas Gayer, who won first prize at the 2009 Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia; Italian-Russian bass player, and former BBC New Generation Artist, Misha Mullov-Abbado; and creative, super swinging Greek drummer, Billy Pod.
O’Higgins, Smith & Mullov-Abbado will be writing 6 new compositions for this London Jazz Festival date, to be recorded for PX Records at these 2 shows. That should keep the band & the audience on it’s toes!
