A quintet based out of Los Angeles, a veritable supergroup of prolific composers & producers delving deep into a hyperrealist, collectivist approach to creation. A performance from SML is a unique thing, often entirely improvised, such is the level of their connection and their powers of communication. Fluid, propulsive, freeform, exuberant, intricately polyrhythmic, the band paint a magical, incomparable tapestry of ideas, sitting somewhere amongst Joe Chambers' solo work, Squarepusher, Gang of Four & Brian Eno. Their second album is set to drop just a few days after this show.
