Drummer and composer Chiara Spigariol presents Whispered Tales at PizzaExpress Live Soho, a captivating mix of jazz, folk, and Latin music inspired by stories, myths, and theatrical pieces from around the world.
Drummer and composer Chiara Spigariol brings her innovative project Whispered Tales to PizzaExpress Live Soho, weaving stories, myths, and theatrical pieces from around the world into a vibrant mix of jazz, folk, and Latin music. Her ensemble, featuring Rebecca Edlund (vocals), Thomas Stephenson (piano), and Mark McQuillan (bass), transforms narrative into sound with creativity and emotional depth.
Chiara studied classical percussion for five years and jazz drums for fourteen, attending Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and working with renowned teachers including James Maddren, Asaf Sirkis, Patrick Davey, and Gene Calderazzo. Now a professional musician, she has performed at prestigious venues including Ronnie Scott’s, The Spice of Life, Toulouse Lautrec, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Vortex Jazz Club, and has appeared at major festivals such as the London Jazz Festival and Ipswich Jazz Festival. In 2022, she performed during the Platinum Jubilee just outside Buckingham Palace.
Chiara has collaborated with celebrated musicians such as Emma Rawicz, Gianluca Mosole, Deschanel Gordon, and Andrea Vicary, and has received multiple scholarships from organisations including the RPS Foundation, Berklee College of Music, and the Wolfson Instrument Fund. With Whispered Tales, she continues to captivate audiences, blending storytelling and music in a truly unique voice.
