Blues and Roots Ensemble is a 9-piece band dedicated to sharing the music of the legendary composer/bandleader, Charles Mingus.

Led by double bassist Ed Babar, the band performs creative arrangements of Mingus classics as well as unarchiving his lesser know works. From his raucous dedications to jazz giants, scathing protest music of the 1950s, and the joyous celebration of gospel music BARE gives the full experience of everything that Mingus music has to offer.
